Who Cares, I'm Going to France!

Amber acronym of the moment: WCIGTF!!!! What is going on you say? I have a new motto, that's what. Often in life we experience things that are less than desireable- human 'Fails' in relationships, stress of life, health issues, oh and kids' unrelenting needs! If you have read Simply Peachy for any amount of time, you may have picked up on the depths of difficulty one can experience. I look for ways to cope, and change it up often. This time I am delighted to say I am coping in the light of a reprieve coming up. I am going to Paris, France! Me, I , moi.... Paris! I'll be wandering through the streets, exploring on my own during the days and meeting up with friends. A lifelong dream, finally true. So what is this acronym? WCIGTF = "Who Cares, I'm Going to France!" Yep. And it works quite well. Use when receiving: Bad news, a phonecall from a biller, eratic behaviour from a family member, a flat tire,.. and many other instances. Go ahead, try it, plan something fun for yourself and get through the days much easier. Bon Voyage!

Absolutely MUST visit the Lourve. It's simply awesome. Sacre Coeur and Montmartre as well. For dining, I recommend Secret Square Restaurant Et Cabaret Aphrodisiaque. It's dinner and a show you’ll remember for sure. Lots of fun too. Watch out for the scam artists near the Eiffel Tower. Don't give those gypsies a dime! Make sure to give yourself time to plan out the Metro-it's the best way to get around the city and kind of confusing but if you prepare it will save you a lot of time and money. Cabs are crazy and recommend avoiding unless you absolutely have to, but mainly from and back to Charles de Gaulle. Most of all enjoy!
Go to the "touristy" places but spend your money away from them because they are (usually) overpriced. Go see the Eiffel Tower but don't eat or buy souvenirs near there. Walk a few blocks and find a small bistro or cafe. It will be so much better.
Some museums are open when others close (Musee D'Orsay v. The Louvre come to mind) but when both are open you can go to the less popular one and beat the lines :-).
I wrote a bit about Paris when I went (near the middle here: http://hellmouth.efx2blogs.com/Eurotrip%2B2006/ )
Also: follow your nose and get lost :-)
Loving this, thank you for replying!
